Monument

Two separate concrete block monuments bearing several plaques (2 plaques for the first monument and 1 plaque for the second) set on a thick concrete base. The first monument with 2 plaques attached on it, commemorates the French GB I/11 airmen while the second monument, bearing 1 plaque, lists various allied aircrews that fell in the city and nearby cities during World War II. American aircrew include Lt. Cunnigham’s of the 353rd Bomber Squadron that was downed in Saint-Martin-de-Crau and Fighter pilots LT Tippett and McConnell of the 48th and 49th Fighter Squadron, who were Killed in Action during the liberation of Arles, France. All plaques are inscribed in French text.
