A dark brass inscribed plaque.
The plaque remembers the liberation of the town of Kdyně by the 9thInfantry Regiment of the 2nd Infantry Division on May 5, 1945.
The 9th Infantry Regiment was commanded by Colonel Philip DeWitt Ginder, later Major General Ginder.
The text on the plaque is written in Czech and in English and reads:
Pamatce slavneho dne 5. kvetna 1945, kdy 9. pesi pluk druhe divize americke armady pod velenim Col. Gindera osvobodil mesto Kdyni od nemeckeho jha.

To Commemorate the glory of May 5, 1945 when the Ninth United States Infantry Regiment of the Second Infantry Division under Command of Colonel Ginder liberated the Town of Kdyne from the German oppression. The Citizens of Kdyne.
