A standard US Military small gravestone attached to a wall under the family gravestone.

Joseph (Giuseppe) D. Pioli was born in Italy on November 28, 1920.  He immigrated to the US in 1924 with his family and resided in Chicago, Illinois.  He served in B Company, 1st Battalion, 275th Infantry Regiment of the 70th Infantry Division - "Trailblazers".  He was killed in Action on February 22, 1945; his unit was involved in actions against the enemy near Forbach, France near the German border and the Siegfried line.  He was buried in his Italian place of birth in Cerageto, Italy in 1949.
