Commemorative Object

A series of placards remembering the liberation of the town of Pournoy-la-Chetive, France in September 1944.  The placards describe the liberation of the town and the taking of the adjacent railroad tracks by the 10th Infantry Regiment, 5th "Red Diamond" Infantry Division.  The placards all the story of how Sergreant Alan Lowell lead the effort to take the nearby tracks.  He was later killed in fighting in the Lorraine and is buired in the Lorraine American Cemetery.
