On the outside back wall of the "Perception" buildling at 2, rue du soldat Georges Meyer Plaque A stone plaque with French text and gold leaf engraving. Commemorates George Meyer, killed in the liberation of the village on 31 August 1944.


Sergeant George Meyers served in the 15th Armored Infantry Battalion of the 5th Armored 'Victory" Division.  He fell liberating this town.  How brother James, Meyers, also served in the same unit.  James fell during the Battle of the Bulge on Dec 18, 1944.  They are buried next to each other at the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery in Belgium.
