When Clarence T. Jackman was born in August 1893, his father, John, was 38 and his mother, Laura, was 21. He had two brothers and four sisters. He entered the military service in Kentucky and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in Company F, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 18, 1918 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France.
