When Homer Wyatt was born on July 1, 1896, in Alabama, his father, Eli, was 39 and his mother, Nancy, was 30. He had six brothers and one sister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company L, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 27, 1918 in France, at the age of 22 and is now buried in Riverdale Cemetery, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, USA.
