Gustave August Magnon was born on June 21, 1985, in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana. He was the son of Laura Magnon and entered the military service in Louisiana. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company B, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 21, 1918 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France.
