When Travis Withers was born in 1900 in Arkansas, his father, William, was 38 and his mother, Martha"Mattie", was 26. He had two brothers and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company M, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on July 20, 1918 and is now buried in Pattsville Cemetery, Hermitage, Bradley County, Arkansas, USA.
