Edwin G. Davis was born on August 17, 1924 and was the son of Benjamin Davis and Anna Vincent. He entered the service at AFIS, Akron, Ohio on May 5, 1943, at Fort Hayes. He was stationed and trained at Fort Benning, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in Company D, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He was Killed in Action on December 25, 1944, at the age of 20 and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
