Willard Reid was 20 years old and a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Reid. He was formerly a student at the Crane Technical High School before enlisted in the regular army in April, 1917 in Illinois. He sailed for France with the first contingent of American troops as a member of Company C, 2nd Machine Gun Battalion, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 22, 1918 and is now buried in Aisne-Marne American Cem., Belleau, France.
