When Eurna Franklin McClain was born on May 10, 1893, in Ravenna, Michigan, his father, Christopher, was 48 and his mother, Carrie, was 38. He had one brother and two sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in Company D, 3rd Machine Gun Battalion, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 18, 1918 (at the age of 25) and is now buried in Champion Hill Cemetery, Honor, Benzie County, Michigan, USA.
