Claude P. Coucher was born on January 8, 1893 in Medaryville, Pulaski County, Indiana. He was the son of Albert and Rachael Coucher. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company B, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 8, 1918 (at the age of 25) in France and is now buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, La Porte County, Indiana, USA. His name is commemorated on the Buzancy monument in the MISSING IN ACTION section of the monument.
