When Will F. Alexander was born in July 1892 in Georgia, his father, George, was 27 and his mother, Fannie, was 20. He had three brothers and two sisters. He entered the military service in Alabama and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in Company I, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action but declared "Missing" on July 21, 1918 and is memorialized on Tablets of the Missing, Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, Belleau, France. His name is commemorated on the Buzancy monument in the MISSING IN ACTION section of the monument.
