Mathew V. Banks, aged 28, was born on September 21, 1915. He was the son of Frank J. Benko and Mary Oblak Bombich. Mathew served in the 363rd Infantry, 91st Infantry Division as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He died on July 12, 1944 while fighting in the area of Ponzalla in Italy and is now buried in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, USA.
