Born July 2, 1890 in Ireland, Martin Hasset was Killed in Action while serving in the US Army during World War I as a Private First Class in Company H, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division.
Martin was born in Kilfearagh, Co. Clare, Ireland to James Hassett and Annie Reid. Martin served as a private in Company H, 28th Infantry, American Expeditionary Forces during World War I, and was killed in action in France. Initially buried in an isolated grave, he was reinterred at Argonne American Cemetery on 7th June 1919, exhumed on 2nd Dec. 1921, and repatriated on the S.S. Millwater, arriving in Ireland on 7th May 1922. Reburial took place in late May 1925.
