William Henry Saylor, Jr. was born on October 30, 1894 in Newport, Perry County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of William Henry Saylor and Teresa A. Saylor. He enlisted in the Army on June 13, 1917 and served during World War I as a Private in the 97th Company, 6th Marine Regiment, US Marine Corps. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1918 in France at the age of 23 and is now buried in Newport Cemetery, Newport, Perry County, Pennsylvania, USA.
