Louis Edward Seif was born on January 4, 1890 in Clark County, Wisconsin. He was the son of Fred J. Seif and Mary Magdalene Weisner Seif and came to Neillsville with his parents in 1904. He attended and graduated from the Neillsville High School and then went to Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, graduating from there. He came home and shortly after, in 1915, went to Mellen to take a position in a drugstore. When the United States entered the war, Louis enlisted and became Second Lieutenant in Company M, 127th Infantry Regiment, 32nd Infantry Division. He died on August 4, 1918 and is now buried in Neillsville City Cemetery, Neillsville, Clark County, Wisconsin, USA.
