Arthur C. Sperber was born in September 1897 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Hugo Fredrick Sperber and Augusta Emma Stadelman Sperber. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in the 103rd Field Signal Battalion, 28th Infantry Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on September 18, 1918 in France and is now buried in Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA.
