Lawrence A. LaCasse was born on August 28, 1894 in Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He enlisted in the Massachusetts National Guard on June 23, 1916. He served on the Mexican Border with G Company, 5th Infantry. He was deployed overseas on September 7, 1917 with 101st Infantry, 26th Division. He was Killed in Action near Les Vaumaires on February 27, 1918and buried in France. His remains were later brought home for burial. He was reburied on August 9, 1921 at Calvary Cemetery Winchester Massachusetts.
