Alfred Goodwin was born on August 31, 1891. He was the son of Ivory Flanders Goodwin and Alice Louisa Heath Goodwin. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company D, 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on May 10, 1918 in France at the age of 26 and is now buried in Stanley Cemetery, Oxford County, Maine, USA.
