Chauncey Depew Walker was born on April 19, 1892 in Belchertown, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Alva Sikes Walker and Abbie Sophia Stebbins Walker. He enlisted in the Army in February 1917. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in the 104th Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. Corporal Walker died in an American base hospital in France on July 18, 1918 resulting from wounds received at the front. He is now buried in Aisne-Marne American Cem., Belleau, France.
