When Frederick Rudolph Seelig was born on January 27, 1894, in Manchester, New Hampshire, his father, Oscar, was 26 and his mother, Ida, was 24. He married Dorothy Mildred Chadbourne on June 18, 1917, in his hometown. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in Battery D, 103rd Field Artillery Regiment, 26th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on September 14, 1918 during the battle in St. Mihiel, France and is now buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA.
