Otis Edmond Soper was born on January 15, 1896 in Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. He was the son of George Edmond Soper and Opha Eva Goldsmith Soper. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in the 101st Engineer Regiment, 26th Infantry Division. He died on July 13, 1918 in France at the age of 22 and is now buried in Aisne-Marne American Cem., Belleau, France.
