Michael Prokopovich was born on November 10, 1907 in Cle Elum, Kittitas County, Washington. He enlisted in the Army on ar 15, 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 531st Engineer Shore Regiment. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Utah Beach, France at the age of 36 and is now buried in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Cle Elum, Kittitas County, Washington, USA.
