Granville Armstrong was born to Charles and Gertrude Cooper in Kidderminster, Worcestershire England in 1906. Him and his family came to America in 1909. He entered the military service in Massachusetts and served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Master Sergeant in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France and is now buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA.
