Richard Kidder Meade Baughman was born on November 22, 1924. He was the son of George Edward Baughman and Martha Meade Baughman. He was a native and resident of Baltimore, Md., he also was a resident of Norfolk. Richard enlisted in the Army on June 22, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was noted as being Single, without dependents. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on June 7, 1944 at the age of 19 and is now buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, Norfolk City, Virginia, USA.
