Combat Medics - 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division Plaque
John D. Steele was born in 1920. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private and a combat medic in the Medical Detachment of the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France and is now buried in Hollidaysburg Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania, USA.
