Paul W. Cronin served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was one of the first volunteers to join the Army from Revere and was chosen to fill the ranks of the crack First Division, which was the first to land in Tunisia, North Africa, and then Sicily before returning to England to take part in the D-Day operation. Paul was Killed in Action on August 4, 1944 but his current burial place is unknown.
