Leroy L. Watson was born in 1917 in Maine. He enlisted in the Army on February 26, 1942 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. He was noted as being employed as a Fishermen and/or oystermen and also as Single, without dependents. Leroy served as a Private First Class, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He resided in Knox County, Maine prior to the war. He died from his wounds received in battle on August 2, 1944 and is now buried in Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France.
