John M. Mihalko was the was the son of Theodore Mihalko and Susan Pavuk Mihalko. Prior to entering the service in October 1943, he was employed at the Inland Steel company. John served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on August 1, 1944 and is now buried in Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France.
