Lucius Dugas was born on June 24, 1925 in Arnaudville, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. He was the son of Joseph Alverest Dugas and Carmelette Robin. Lucius was drafted into the Army on September 30, 1943 to fight in World War II. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 1st Infantry Division. Lucius died during the Battle of Normandy in Lucerne, France. After his death, his body was brought back to the United States to be buried along his family members in the Saint Francis Regis Catholic Church Cemetery in Arnaudville, Saint Landry Parish, Louisiana.
