Meyer Sokol was born on August 17, 1920 in Massachusetts. He was the son of Philip Sokol and Annie Sokol. He enlisted in the Army on September 22, 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on September 3, 1944 in Belgium at the age of 24 and is now buried in Waldheim Jewish Cemetery, Forest Park, Cook County, Illinois, USA.
