Llewellyn Emil Herritz was born on July 8, 1923 in Wisconsin. He was the son of Emil Herman Herritz and Myrtle Elvera Dwars Herritz. He enlisted in the Army on March 18, 1943 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 1st Infantry Division. He died on July 28, 1944 in France at the age of 21 and is now buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, North Freedom, Sauk County, Wisconsin, USA.
