Chester Ray Winsworth was born on September 7, 1920 in Offerle, Edwards County, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Technician Fifth Grade in the 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on August 6, 1944 in France at the age of 23 and is now buried in Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Muskogee County, Oklahoma, USA. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry monument in Mons, Belgium and ranked as a Corporal.
