Ralph James Olsen was born on September 15, 1921 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, Wisconsin. He was the son of James Magnus Olsen and Olga Emily Gabel Olsen. Ralph served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Second Lieutenant in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on January 8, 1945 in Belgium at the age of 23 and is now buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse, La Crosse County, Wisconsin, USA.
