Walter James Hansen, Jr. was born on February 16, 1924 in Door County, Wisconsin. He was the son of Walter J. Hansen and Eleanor Nelson Hansen. Walter served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on February 2, 1945 in Belgium at the age of 20 and is now buried in Hainesville Cemetery, Sturgeon Bay, Door County, Wisconsin, USA.
