George E. Joyal was born on July 13, 1920 in Quebec, Canada. He enlisted in the Army on December 12, 1942 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in warehousing and also as Married. George served as a Staff Sergeant, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He resided in Worcester County, Massachusetts prior to the war. He was Killed in Action on January 15, 1945 in Belgium at the age of 24 and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
