Adolph S. “Abie” Rossmiller was born on February 3, 1922 in Burlington, Racine County, Wisconsin. He was the son of Bernard Adolph Rossmiller and Barbara Eliza Tuligowski Rossmiller. was graduated from St. Charles grade school and Burlington high school, the latter in 1941. He entered the army in October, 1943, and was assigned to the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He went overseas in April, 1944, and was wounded in the fighting in Europe on August 1, and again on September 20 of that year. On January 15, 1945, he was killed in Belgium in the Battle of the Bulge. He had been buried in Henri-Chapelle cemetery in that country and is now buried in Gods Acre Cemetery, Burlington, Racine County, Wisconsin, USA.
