Henry Wilson “Hank” Wood was born on January 23, 1922 in Chenango County, New York. He was the son of Jesse Leroy Wood and Louisa May Jackson Wood. Henry enlisted in the Army on November 4, 1940 in New York and served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on January 15, 1945 in Belgium at the age of 22 and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
