James Patrick Doyle was born on January 25, 1928 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on December 28, 1944 and is now buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium. His name is also commemorated on the memorial wall in Fenway, a part of the Boston Park system. The Corner of Hamlin St and East 8th St is named for him.
