Allen Harry Soifert was born on August 19, 1958 in Toronto, Toronto Municipality, Ontario, Canada. He was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. Allen was sent to Lebanon as a peace-keeper in Beirut. But, on October 14, 1983 at 10:30AM, two jeeps traveling on the airport perimeter road came under attack. The first jeep was hit, and the driver was shot through both legs. The driver of the second jeep, Staff Sergeant Soifert, was shot in the chest, and his jeep overturned. Both Landing Site Red and Charlie Company responded, firing at the snipers. The two wounded Marines were medevaced to the USS Iwo Jima; however, Staff Sergeant Soifert died shortly thereafter. both the perimeter road and LS Red were closed to all travel. He is now buried in the Beth Abraham Cemetery, Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA.
