Eugene Jackson was born in Hartford September 18, 1918, and was graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1936. He attended Morse Business College. He was a member of St. Johns's Episcopal Church, East Hartford, and for several years was a member of the Christ Church Cathedral Boys Choir. He was employed by the Travelers Insurance Company at the time of his enlistment in the 118th Observation Squadron, National Guard. In 1942 he was accepted as an aviation cadet and in 1943 was awarded his wings and a commission in the Army Air Corps. Eugene served in the 483rd Bomb Group (H), 816th Bomb Squadron as a Second Lieutenant during World War II.

He was in the B-17 44-6174 aircraft and was killed in action during a bombing mission over Buchenberg, Germany while raiding the Memminger Airdrome on July 18, 1944. He is now buried in the Spring Grove Cemetery, Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA.
