Philip G. Blair was born on January 1, 1909 in Utah. He was the son of Samuel Blair and Sarah Lois Gee Blair. He was a graduate of the Utah State Agricultural College in Logan and was employed as a fieldsman for the American Packing and Provision Co., prior to his enlistment. Philip served in Company A, 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division as a Technical Sergeant during World War II. He participated in the D-day invasion and the battle of St. Lo. He was Killed in Action on September 16, 1944 at the age of 35 during the battle for liberation of Agincourt, France and is now buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-Avold, Departement de la Moselle, Lorraine, France.
