Victor Eugene Collins was born on June 25, 1917 in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington. He was the son of Frank John Collins and Violet Izeta McLean Collins. Victor served in Company A, 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He died on September 20, 1944 at the age of 27 during the battle for liberation of Agincourt, France and is now buried in the Tahoma Cemetery, Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, USA. His name is also honored on the "Garden of Remembrance" located on the corner of 2nd and University in downtown Seattle.
