Robert V. Owens was born on March 21, 1924 in Metropolis, Massac County, Illinois. He was the son of Ras and Doris Owens. Robert served in Company A, 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division as a Sergeant during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 21, 1944 at the age of 20 during the battle for liberation of Agincourt, France and is now buried in the IOOF Cemetery, Metropolis, Massac County, Illinois, USA.
