Kenneth L. Thomas, aged 24, was born on July 25, 1920 in Fayette, Fayette County, Iowa. He operated a farm near Oelwein until the time he entered the service on August 26, 1942 and went overseas on June 6, 1944. Kenneth served in Company I, 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 17, 1944 during the battle for liberation of Agincourt, France and is now buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, Fayette County, Iowa, USA.
