Leilan Albright was born in 1918 in Madera County, California. He served in the 3rd Cargo Carrier Group, 9th Cargo Carrier Squadron as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. Pilot of a C-47A Transport (Tail Number 43-15789) that crashed 10 miles from Lashio, Burma on April 22, 1945. He is now buried in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Lincoln County, Nebraska, USA. Together on his headstone is Corporal John W. Horner. He He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
