Robert M. Baer was born in 1919. He served in the US Air Corps as a First Lieutenant. 1Lt. Baer was the Co-pilot of U.S. B-29-45-BW Superfortress #42-24715. He was Killed In Action when his bomber was rammed by a Japanese fighter on a mission over Mukden, Manchuria. He is now buried in a common grave with his crew in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA. Baer was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
