Marvin Eugene Balderson was born on April 12, 1917 in District of Columbia. He was the son of Marvin Brown Balderson and Maude Louise Prestele Balderson. He served in the 23rd Fighter Group as a First Lieutenant. Marvin was killed in a crashlanding at Changsha, China in P-40N #42-105249 which he was a Pilot when it ran out of gas. He died on May 26, 1944 at the age of 27 and is now buried in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
Marvin was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
